What does it mean to be a volunteer with Remnant Initiatives?

RI's volunteers provide an incredible service to the community by helping some of our most vulnerable citizens live into their potential for being law abiding, contributing citizens.

Our volunteers are young adults, retired folks, men and women, who come from a myriad of professional and vocational backgrounds. The only qualification is a willingness to walk alongside returning neighbors as they do the hard work of being successful. Read more about some of our possible volunteer roles here.

Activities may include:

  • Texting, calling, having coffee

  • Helping with transportation

  • Encouraging another person along their journey

The amount of time invested is fluid and defined by the volunteer and the returning neighbor. Volunteers are well supported, provided training, with a multitude of resources available.

Please fill out this brief questionnaire to get the conversation started about how you might join us in our dream to realize safer, healthier communities by supporting our neighbors transitioning back into mainstream society after incarceration.
